About Ana
Ana B. Cuenca was born and raised in Villamalea (Albacete) in the region of Castilla-La-Mancha in Spain. She holds a Bachelor degree (Licenciatura) in Pharmacy from the University of Valencia. She carried out her doctoral research in Chemistry on Enantioselective Protonation in the laboratories of Gregorio Asensio and Mercedes Medio. As a PhD student, she also completed stays at Firmenich SA (Geneva, supervisor C. Fehr) and ETH Zurich (supervisor D. Seebach).
2021: tenure as associate professor, IQS-URL
2021: appointment as head of the Department of Organic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry at IQS School of Engineering
2016: starts as assistant professor of chemistry at IQS-URL
Previous position (2013-2016): Research fellow, University of Rovira i Virgili (Tarragona) in E. Fernández group
2015: visiting scholar at the University of Tokyo in the group of Makoto Fujita: crystalline sponge structure determination of liquid organoboranes (see here)
